After two successful years supporting Jersey’s sport organisations through the SUPPORTIN SPORT Fund, we are delighted to streamline and provide more detailed criteria of the four key themes for this funding programme. The new SPORT ACTIVATION funding will distribute over £300,000 to local sport organisations in 2026:
Increasing Participation funding supports sport organisations by providing financial assistance for projects that aim to grow participation and engagement in sport and physical activity. Its purpose is to help clubs, associations and businesses attract and retain participants, particularly from underrepresented groups, and to support the development of inclusive and sustainable opportunities for Jersey’s sporting community.
Up to £150,000 will be allocated in 2026 to support projects under the Increasing Participation and Sport Workforce Development funding streams.
What can be funded:
√ Initiatives that target an increase in participation aligned to your organisation’s development plan (i.e. open days, taster sessions, or recreational programmes).
√ New projects that provide opportunities for islanders who are underrepresented in your sport to be active, for example teenagers, females or participants with a disability.
√ Projects that establish or develop better player/athlete programme.
√ Services that provide direct support to launch projects that increase participation, such as facility hire, marketing materials or essential equipment or kit.
√ Initiatives and projects delivered by sport organisations who are charitable, not-for-profit and profit making
