Organisations
Jersey Canoe Club

Jersey Canoe Club was formed in 1974 and for nearly 50 years has been very active in the development of all paddlesports on the Island. Kayaking is offered on the sea throughout the year with sessions every Sunday morning and day trips on Wednesdays. Tuesday nights in the summer there are training sessions at St Catherine’s, from the Club House and in the winter on Thursdays at Les Quennevais Pool. Other regular sessions include coasteering on Fridays, plus some Thursday evenings in the summer and Stand Up Paddleboarding on Saturdays.

Weather and conditions trips are run to the offshore reefs, such as Les Ecrehous and Minquiers plus the other Channel Islands, especially Sark, which has some amazing paddling.

All sessions are run by highly qualified coaches. The Club has sea kayaks for use at St Catherine’s plus 8 sea kayaks on the west coast of Greenland for more adventurous members.

Trips away from the Island, organized by the Club, have included Scotland, London, France, Malta, Mexico, Sweden, Italy and Greece in recent years.

The Club welcomes paddlers of all abilities from beginners upwards.
