We’re looking for a Grants and Fundraising Officer to coordinate all aspects of Jersey Sport’s grant administration and fundraising functions.

The launch of the Inspiring an Active Jersey Strategy in collaboration with the Government of Jersey has given us the opportunity to expand and innovate physical activity initiatives across Jersey over the coming decade, as we work to achieve our collective goal, to increase physical activity by 10%, by 2030.

About the role

The Grants and Fundraising Officer will coordinate all aspects of Jersey Sport’s grant administration and fundraising functions, playing a critical role in ensuring efficient and effective grant giving to achieve the fund outcomes which align to the Inspiring an Active Jersey Strategy.

They will work very closely with the Sports Development Manager, Sports Partnership Officer and Business Administration Manager to design and manage impactful funds, and critically drive strong governance and financial assurance in the growing sport and physical activity sector in Jersey.  The officer will also work closely with our Grants Advisory Committee to ensure appropriate governance and transparent decision making is reflected in all our awarding work.

Another key area of the role will be to scope, tender and implement a new Grants Administration System which will support our growing portfolio of grants from 2022 onwards.

As a charity, Jersey Sport has a remit to identify and secure private and charitable funding for sport and physical activity. The Grants and Fundraising Officer will be responsible for identifying and securing funding opportunities aligned to key outcomes from our IAJ strategy.  They will be required to promote the work of the organisation and our voluntary sector by developing robust evidence based propositions and develop funding proposals which allows growth in programmes and initiatives. In time, we expect some of the fundraising will result in additional grant programmes.

As part of the Business Administration team, you will also have a role in supporting all areas of the business, as required.

Skills you will bring

  • Experience in effective grant administration  and fundraising.
  • Experience in the design, implementation and management of  grant funds.
  • Experience in the effective use of IT, including Microsoft products, to support your work.
  • Experience in performance monitoring, evaluation reporting.
  • Experience using (ideally leading) the procurement and implementation of new IT systems.
  • Experience of providing excellent customer service as the primary point of contact for a programme.
  • Experience of fundraising processes and functions.
  • Demonstrate a progressive personal development programme of qualifications/ training relevant to your career.
  • Professional qualification/accreditations explicitly related to the roles and responsibilities described above or able to demonstrate equivalent through experience.
