Primary school children get stuck in at Festival at the Fort

Friday 22 June 2018

Hundreds of children from across the island have taken part in Jersey Sport’s Primary School Festival at Fort Regent over the past fortnight.

The eight-day event comes to a close today (Friday), and has seen the Year Six pupils from 28 primaries compete for points in badminton, squash, circuits, cricket and martial arts.

The children accumulate points in skills challenges but are also rewarded for their attitude and behaviour. The school with the most points wins the trophy.

“It’s been fantastic to see so many children trying out new sports,” said Laura Robertson, Jersey Sport’s Schools, Physical Literacy and Education Lead.

“They’ve had a brilliant opportunity to learn new skills whilst being active and having lots of fun.”
