Jake Gower

Community Coach

BACKGROUND: Jake was born in Jersey and went to Mont Nicolle School followed by Les Quennevais School. He realised his love for football in year 5 and has been involved with it since. Jake was in the top team at every age group all the way into senior level. After Les Quennevais School, he went to Highlands College where he studied sport and cemented his love for sport and coaching. He is currently studying Sport Coaching at university with the desire to make it at professional level. He plays and coaches football at university as well as working within schools to provide coaching to children. Jake coaches on the Jersey Sport holiday courses when he returns from university.

INTERESTS AND HOBBIES: Jake loves to spend time going to watch live football matches, helping out in the community with coaching and enjoys spending time with his friends. Jake is always looking for any opportunity to develop his coaching and is looking at doing dodgeball to be able to bring it back to Jersey Sport to allow for more courses and opportunities.

  • Level 2 FA Coaching in Football
  • FA Youth Award Module 2
  • Safeguarding children and adults certificate
  • Emergency first aid certificate
  • Football Organisers Award
  • Sport Leaders Award
  • Currently taking Sport Coaching BSc degree
  • Currently taking Multi Skills Award Level 2
  • Looking to do Dodgeball Level 2 in March 2018
