Jay Cracknell

Lead Cycle Instructor

Role within Jersey Sport: To instruct and guide people of all ages and abilities on how to ride a cycle. From running balance bike sessions, learn to ride for children & adults, cycling confidence, Bikeability levels 1,2&3, to Cycle Without Limits sessions. Working with schools to enable children the opportunity to learn to ride a cycle and participate the Bikeability sessions run in schools and outside of schools.

Employment History: Before working for Jersey Sport Jay was a football coach with the Jersey Football Association where he coached children’s afterschool clubs and helped to run a walking football session weekly. Prior to this Jay worked at Little Joes surf school in the summer & weekends at Sands restaurant & Coopers coffee shop.

High level / sports related qualifications: Jay attended Highlands college completing the Level 3 Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma in Sport. Also holding Level 1 coaching qualifications in Football, Table Tennis and Cycling as well as qualifications in the Bikeability courses level 1,2&3.

Hobbies: During his spare time Jay thoroughly enjoys training for cycling competitions he attends on and off island. Jay’s favourite discipline within cycling is Cross Country Mountain Biking but also enjoys road and cyclocross riding. When Jay is not on two wheels he is often surfing, enjoying other activities available on the island or practicing his carpentry skills. If its something active Jay will most likely be there!
