Tom Middleton

Community Coach

BACKGROUND: Tom was born in the UK and moved to Jersey when he was 11.  He first picked up a tennis racket at the age of 4, and started taking tennis more seriously and playing more after he moved to Jersey. His first big success was when he represented Jersey in 2013 at the Jeux des Iles where he managed to help the team secure 3rd place.  From then he has been the Channel Islands’ number one tennis player for Under 14s, 16s and 18s.  He hopes to achieve the same for the open men’s rankings. Sport has always been a big part of Tom’s life and he hopes that he can help the children on Jersey Sport courses to find a sport they love and encourage them to play, just as he did. He coaches mainly on the Jersey Sport holiday courses.

INTERESTS AND HOBBIES: As well as a love for tennis, Tom enjoys photography and exploring new places.  Most recently he explored the mountain village of Masca.

QUALIFICATIONS: Tom is a Level 2 qualified tennis coach, and is currently doing his Level 3 which is to be completed in July 2018.
