Walking for Health is supported by Jersey Sport to encourage our community to stay active and healthy.
Our free health walks are easy, short walks suitable for those with lower physical ability or long term conditions. Each is led by fully trained and friendly walk leaders who are highly experienced in supporting people to get started.
It is a purposeful, brisk walk, undertaken on a regular basis which is specifically carried out for the purpose of improving an individual’s health. You should feel yourself breathing a little faster, feeling a little warmer and you should feel your heart beating a little faster. You should also feel comfortable and able to talk.
1 heart (up to 30 min) – a moderate paced walk, designed to accommodate people of various abilities
2 hearts (40 – 50min approx) – intermediate
3 hearts (60 – 75 min approx) – more advanced, brisk pace

Please make sure you are at the start point a few minutes early, so that one of our trained walk leaders can take your details and register your attendance. Wear shoes that are comfortable to walk in and make sure you bring sun protection and some water.

There is no special equipment required, other than providing for the weather conditions and wearing a comfortable pair of shoes, or boots.
